The unknown domestic dog and I can't get that through to my 12yo ellie may daughter.

Just had an intact male pit type show up in the yard and she's trying to sneak it into the house, fcol.

I run it off but if it shows up again ellie may will learn a hard lesson.

I guess you could teach that stray dog a lesson by removing the loose jaw from a trap and setting it to give a leg zap.

My wife is the type to walk up to any dog and get right in their face. I've been telling her for years she's going to get bit. We were at a friends house over Christmas and their daughter was holding the yip yip. They told my wife he didn't like strangers or anyone getting in his face. What's the first thing my wife does? Walks right up grabs the dog and tries to elicit "kisses" from it. Dang thing bit her right on the cheek. They felt all bad about it. I said; "Don't feel bad you told her the dog didn't like strangers or people in it's face. She ignored those warnings. She has no-one to blame but herself. Maybe now she'll learn her lesson. I highly doubt it though."

She's also the type to try and pet service dogs. She's been yelled at a lot by the owners of them.

On the tire truck you go into so many farm yards and meet so many different sorts of dogs of all kinds. And I've yet to have been bit. Ya they'll raise there hair and show there fangs, but you tell them to hush it and they sniff me and there's no issue. My dad on the other hand has a fear of dogs and in the same yards those dogs will try and bite him. Some people don't believe it but dogs know who to trust.

Neighbor was walking a pit bull his wife adopted, he came up to me wiggling his butt and panting hard and tongue out. Then with a mighty pull on the lead lunged at me and snapped, and not a playful snap. Neighbor got rid of that dog that afternoon.

I was pheasant hunting ditches in South Dakota last fall. Farm dog comes running out. It looked like that dog from the Mad Maxx film. Anyhow, I called in my shorthairs, got them leashed. And, waited for the fireworks.

Well, the dog was the nicest pooch you'd ever meet. Didn't seem like it running down the drive. Problem was, it wanted to play with my pointers. My dogs love to play, but not when they're working. I couldn't get rid of the thing. Finally I chewed it out really good and chased it back towards the house. I never saw a dog look so sad. Finally laid down on the side of the road and watched us walk away.

Some years ago, a guy on here from LA owned a number of pit bulls for over 20 years. He used them for hog hunting. He said they are a breed of dog that are great for hog hunting, but should never be trusted around people, especially children.

Had a professionally trained state troopers K9 literally wreck his pen to get me. After I talked him into being friends instead of one of us dying, he walked to the front porch with me . When I finally got the trooper to come to the door, he had obviously been sound asleep still in his underwear, he looked at me and finally realized that was his dog sitting beside me. After he shooed the dog into his pen he asked me how I did that. Told him it was touch and go but I’m pretty good with dogs. He said you must be, you just ruined about six thousand dollars in training.
