How do they compare to the bridger #2 dogless?

Both solid traps

COMPLETELY different dog-less systems

round jaw vs square jaw too

I got some older ones. They are #4s but are square jaw. Look about the size of a bridger #3. Think the bridger #3 lam kits would work or not?

Sounds like the problem I recently had with some 3s. I fixed it by bending the pan up a little. Now it will drop farther and let the dog clear the jaw while setting. You just have to tweak it up/down until you get both jaw clearance to set and a level pan after it's set.

yep got mine from Andy after he tried them the first season. The #2 can hold it's own.

I just bought a dozen #3's a few days ago. I've ben filing the dog shorter to make sure the jaw clears. Old Monty's from the 70's-80's didn't have that issue. But these will work well when ready to go.

Hey 3togo, where did you happen to find some of them to buy? Seems like no one has any in stock.

No need to file to get the jaw to clear all got to do is pull cross member to the trap a bit vice works well easy push away to get jaws closer to the dog

Scheide, I bought them from F&T about 3 weeks ago. In a few weeks I plan on buying a dozen #3 offsets also to give a try. I had a #3 dog on last year that I caught 4 yotes in, all good foot holds. Also caught 2 others in an original Monty #2 dogless 2 coil. I'm going to 4 coil the older #3's but the 2's still are very strong.

I got my num 2's today overall I like the trap very consistent pan pressure both are breaking right 2.5 lbs, really strong springs and the jaw face has no sharp edges.

Mine don't lay as flat as Doug66's I think I need to open up the eye some on the pan hinge point so I can bend the cross member back to get it to lay a little flatter. I will base plate them and upgrade the chain later on. I did cut off some of the pan length

I have some. Like others I base plated and replaced chain. In-line swivel. I also 4 coiled. Mine hold exceptionally well. If I where to add to my inventory this off season. That was the trap I was wanting. They are very good traps imo.

I am a long spring user, but I have been humoring trying some #2 Victor/Mont out this year and see. I have looked at the #3 and liked how well it was made too. So far the trappers in my area that use either have said very very good things about them.

I have 2 seasons on my Monty's since I posted in 2018. Have held every coyote that stepped in. Most are like yoteguts pictures, full foot in the trap. Other than filing the night latch mine are still stock.

However, they do not hold up to an excavator driving over them.
