Been bit a couple of times. Once offering my hand for a pit bull to sniff.
Another time ,back when I was servicing tvs, the TV was in the basemen, the owner went down the steps first then me and then the dog. The chuwawa(sp) had my pant leg in his mouth. The owner was surprised when the dog made it to the basement before she did.
BTW Its kind of disgusting when you finish a TV repair job and on the way to the truck you notice your knees are brown and smell like dog (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman).

Ive owned 4 bulldog mixes, none were pit bull. I ended up having to give all 4 lead therapy over either property destruction of neighbors property or killing my farm animals. I will never own anything bigger than a rat terrier mix again. My neighbor has a pit bull and ive already had to give it a warning shot with my pistol for chasing me on my mountain bike. Told her that was the only warning shot i will ever give again.

My wife watches a lot of court shows. She said whenever there are cases involving severe dog attacks, almost all the time it's pit bulls.

She said there was a guy on Judge Judy who was suing a pit bull owner. It seems the plaintiff was walking his miniature poodle across the street from the pit bull owner's residence. The pit bull ran out of the defendant's garage, across the street, and grabbed the poodle. The poodle's owner starting kicking the pit bull to make it let loose of the poodle. It finally did, then bit the plaintiff in the forearm.

The defendant blamed the plaintiff for getting bit. She said he would never have gotten bit if he had not kicked her dog. He said he was kicking the pit bull to make it let go of his miniature poodle. Defendant lost the case. Plaintiff was awarded the maximum of $5,000.

The animal which gave me the biggest fear was nutria.
Most animals bluff a charge. Not a nutria. I had one coming for my face once I pulled it clear of the brush it was buried in.
I had ahold of the long chain on a 1 1/2 long spring, pulling it in the clear to reduce it to possession. I will never forget the closeup view of the hog nose, bright orange teeth, and the back of its throat inches from my face before my dispatcher calmed him down significantly...
