The best advice I can give is learn to identify the type of trees morels grow around. For me it's sycamore, elm and poplar also old apple trees... Here is a elm and usually if it is dying you will find some around it. not sure the picking window in your area but keep some notes and you will find this helpful in the future... some past prime see how many are on the forest floor around an elm... ,.,.
