Hello all,

Looking for some insight on my mf35 diesel deluxe with factory power steering. Issue is power steering went out, occasionally comes back for a moment then gone. Fluid is silver. Pulled the pump and took it apart, the amount of wear doesn't look like enough for the amount of silver with no real scoring around the gears. New pump on order. Am I missing something else?

mine leaks power steering fluid into the engine thru the pump. check the seal between them. does your steering come back when you add more fluid to it? thats how i know to add juice to it.i gave up using the "recomended" fluid and just use motor oil in it now.
btw mine is a 1962 model, still going strong!

Your going to need a manual- it’s all in the adjustment.Just a hair one way or the other and it won’t work right.

Don’t forget about the steering end, where the fluid goes to help you steer, and make sure you flush your lines and reservoir to get the metal out so you don’t ruin the new pump, and as stated before get a manual these guys have some pretty good ones.

Thanks guys, installed the new pump and flushed the system out. Working on getting all the air out, but the power steering seems to be working.
