Everywhere I go I am being asked to go "paperless" and do things "on-line". Pay bills, do banking, deal with accounts, etc etc. Every time I try to do that they ask me to set up an account with some secret "handshake" which I never seem to write down or remember. When I do break down and try to set something up I end up trying to give them the same password I use for everything...except they don't like it because it doesn't have enough digits or it needs something capitalized, or a star or an asterisk or what have you.
So, I just keep insisting to do things through the mail or over the phone....on my land-line. Thank you very much! Sometimes over the phone some young sweet voice will say that my request can easily be done "on-line". I usually ask what "on-line" means. Seems to flabbergast them some. LOL
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

To me online is so much easier and simpler. And auto withdrawals is even easier, no forgetting or lost in the mail. Get a conformation every time a bill is paid. Check checking immediately after a purchase to verify.
Just curious, when you order trapping supplies, do you mark things on an order form and mail a check or money order? Or do you go online, pick what you want and pay?

The more they can get folks to do 'online' the more disruption there will be when they bring down the internet....

Seems no one wants to talk to you anymore--texts and e-mails. Everywhere you go,people can't put their cell phones down, doesn't matter where they are. Old school dinosaur --worst thing that ever happened---cell phones. Tom

Have never had anyone say I didn't pay. I am also an old dinosaur but it works for me.

I have been going to cash for everything -- harder to do with some things than others. about the only things I have set up on auto pay are insurance. I have one vendor that doesn't like cash --i pay by cc or check. You would be amazed at some of the companies "cash" discounts they make the 2-3% cash back look pretty puny. today one of my vendors gave me a20% cash discount.

Irritates the heck out of me. Everybody wants you to do their job for them, "you can do it on-line." If I wanted to do it online I wouldn't have called you! I do order some stuff online, but quite a bit I order over the phone. I don't do any banking online, everybody says how safe and easy it is. But half the people I know (at least) who do their banking online have had their account hacked. No thanks. I don't do autopay either, I'll send in a check each month, I'm not giving you my bank account number. Not that big a deal, because other than electricity, internet, phone bill, and the monthly credit card and gas bill I don't have any monthly bills. If I can't afford to pay cash for it, I figure I can't afford it and I'll just do without until I save enough money to buy it.

Just paid the electric bill online. Found it had a surcharge of $7.00 to do it online. Will be done by check again from now on.

There is no need to fear online banking and online bill paying and online online. We are way past being a paperless society. That was 25 years ago. Jump in the water's fine and if the internet goes down as some here predict, all merchants, all electric grids, all water systems and such will "stop." In that case, an outdoor bush for waste elimination, a body of water for bathing and fish production, a good dog for bringing home the meat, and a good woman, for cooking over a fire or jerking what the dog brought back are in order.
You won't stop the evolution of technology. It's what America is.
Blessings, Mark

Best thing we ever did was get rid of checks for payment at our household. Made reconciling checkbook a breeze with accounting software and bill pay features through bank. All I ever pay anything with these days is some cash in my wallet (cause there is always some place that won't take cards or phone pay) and a debit card, or otherwise i use the smart pay features on my phone. Checks and today's snail mail are the worst payment methods for bills in my opinion. So open to fraud and delays or lost payments. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I buy all my trapping stuff online from many different dealers on here too. Never had an issue. Jim
