There used to be a guy from Iceland on Wild About Trapping. He trapped arctic fox and mink. The government had a bounty on mink because I think it was an introduced species. He used to shoot some neat looking geese. A couple of species that aren't found in N. America

Marty - walrus rare in Iceland but apparently once native but wiped out by early settlers and/or volcanic eruptions. The last place great auks bred in the world was Iceland but a volcanic eruption wiped out the last nesting area.
Lee - You are talking about the Arctic fox that was radio collared in the Svalbard Islands (Norweigians islands well north of Norway) that travelled 2744 miles from March 1'18 to July 1'18. Average daily movement was 28.8 miles with a max. of 96 miles in a day. It went from Svalbard, across the sea ice, to northern Greenland and then across the sea ice again to Ellesmere Island in extreme northern Canada.
Yes mink introduced from mink farm escapes.

Yes mink introduced from mink farm escapes. Yes, that's the one. My facts aren't as good (memory isn't either) ! I was amazed when I read about that fox, he was driven!
