You could scare someone pretty good with that mount hanging above their tree stand, lol. Of course you may not want to be responsible for the harm they may cause themselves.

I've never seen or heard of a taxidermist meeting his promise about when the work will be done.

My African trophies took a year and a half longer than promised. At least they came out looking good.

Well I can't stay quiet even though I should.

Two years ago I sent a frozen marten to the taxi along with full payment that he requested.
I had seen lots of his work and it is outstanding.
I emailed about 8 months later to see what the status was. Not ready.

So 6 weeks ago I messaged him again for the status. He read the message on 4/13/21 but did not respond. He has not been back online since then.

The thing that really bothers me is that he is a longtime TMAN member with a great reputation. I hope he comes through one of these days.

You are forbearing, patient and kind in allowing the chance to respond. That is a long time to wait. Time......brings progress . Given the chance to respond . After a while, proceed onward.

I’d trade you. I think I have a sock with no match. It has a hole in it but it’s a Nike. Lol.

I can honestly say that I have never had a good experience with a taxi. Last time I delt with one, I was trapping in the sandhills of Ne for coyotes. As outfitter had some hunters from Ar up hunting, and when I met them, one was a taxi and ask If I ever caught any badger. I said all the time, but I just cut them loose. He said, if you catch one in the next few days, I'll buy it. I said okay. Next day, I have a big old badger, so I bring him home and take it to him that night. Next day they are gone when I go over to collect. I swear, they are all flaky, very few that pass the sniff test for me anymore!

Well I caught my first bobcat in December of 2012. I was very excited to say the least and eventually decided to mount it vs skin and sell. Hard choice considering at the time I was starting collrge and fairly broke. My older brother had a friend doing taxidermy work at the time who did absolutely great work. He was doing some competitions at the time to spread his name and show his work. Well I pretty much contacted him right away to have it skinned so I could get it tagged. He said at that point he was going to have it done In 4 months as there was a competition he wanted to enter it in April. Fair enough so put half down on it.

Approx two yrs later he moves locations.. Get a call saying they won't tan the pelt due to no sites tag being attached.... not sure why. the pelt was sent back and he got me to call game warden get a new tag. Naturally dnr throws me through the ringer... they were going confiscate the cat. I think cause I was a younger kid and I told em it was my first cat they let it go... taxidermists apologizes says he is going to pay extra for a quick turn around tan and I'd have it within a few months...
After that I'd contact him every 6 months or so only to hear "very soon it will be done!" About 3 yrs ago asked if he was going to get it done or if I could just get it back.... assured me sooon life was getting in the way! Fee mounted later he sent me a picture of a cat I know he got after mine saying yours is next!

After that basically quit contact with me until about a yr ago when he texted me about some deer antlers I had taken there the following fall from when I got the cat. At that time he apologized for still having the cat... but I did get my deer antlers after 7 yrs. Quite sure that cat will never be seen though.
