That is funny all right. I always have several cans around. So many uses for it. I especially like it for removing tar off my car when I've gone through a road that was freshly tarred. Saw an episode on Mysteries At The Museum on how the inventor stumbled across it. Very interesting.
I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

The inventor was trying to come up with a rust preventer solvent and degreaser for the aerospace industry. Water displacement was the goal and was reached on the 40th try. Hence, the name WD-40.
WD-40 should never be used on firearms.
I had a problem with barn swallows building under the canopy of my boat lift. My boat would get splattered with poop. I sprayed WD-40 where they were starting to build nests and that deterred them from building.
One guy I know claimed he would spray his artificial fishing lures with it and caught a lot more fish as a result. Not sure I believe that.

I dont believe that ad would have been allowed in any publication in 1964. In 1964 married couples on TV slept in separate beds.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
