History has many comments about the fall of great nations but perhaps one of the most quoted is bishop Augustine of Hippo, who sought to comfort this congregation, many of whom were Roman, when they were stunned to learn Rome had fallen in December 410 AD.

“God does not raise up citadels of stone and marble for us; outside of this world he raises up citadels of the Holy Spirit for us, citadels of love which could never collapse, which will for ever stand in glory when this world has been reduced to ashes. … Rome has collapsed and your hearts are outraged by this. Rome was built by men like yourself. Since when did you believe that men had the power to build things that are eternal? Your souls, filled with the light of the Holy Spirit, will not perish.”

We are most blessed to live where we do, when we do, how we do.

Lets not forget the war effort by women in WW 2 Im guessing there are a lot of women in the military that are quite capable.

Never has public education been so important to the needs of our military. Today’s soldiers require a lot of training on some hi tech weapon systems.
