I've never seen a toad like either, never seen a black widow before. Last year the seven year old had a small copper head just miss his face when it struck

I'd take spiders over fire ants all day every day. Just sayin The narrow mouthed toads almost exclusively eat ants. They can exterminate entire colonies of ants over time, by feeding on them faster than the ants can hatch more. Keith

Keith Send a few down to Texas and we can see how they fare against fire ants Texas Horned Lizard (Horny Toad) eats ants too and they used to be plentiful around here, been years since I saw one
