Edit...i just checked my followed lists and i didnt see the thread.
Wiebe Trapline Adventures with Steck was visiting Tom Wilebski
and he touched on them.

I prefer them because they are not as heavy and almost the same size. Speaking about Duke 280’s vs 330’s

I'm working on building some floats. Curious if you guys use any wood glue on them. I used some wood glue on my 1st one. I haven't used the float yet. My neighbor pointed out tonight that wood glue doesn't hold up when submerged. Has anyone noticed that problem with wood glue? Are there any kind of adhesives that hold up underwater?

Yes they work. Remember to use only closed cell foam. I use two layers of foam. I like mine to ride high, I use beliisle and they seem to be a bit heavier then others.
Took a bit to perfect. Put for pond trapping, hands down a good tactic.

I just made a new one for beaver out of a set of saw horse legs I picked up at a garage sale. I was able to snag 3 complete saw horses for ten bucks and can make six of these now if I wanted to. The foam I got out of a dumpster. This thing is super lightweight and only weighs a fraction of my original one that I have used for years.

Not that I am much of a water trapper but the 330 catches I have made (<100 lifetime) I have noticed the bars on the back and chest as opposed to a neck so I suspected unless you are after a whale of a beaver a 280 should be a better fit.

As far as floats I made one up, hauled it down a steep bank, and took 6 or 8 beaver with it. Come end of the season I took my 330 back up and let the float itself pile into the next log jam (this was private property of course). I know they work I am just not wantin to lug too much more heavy stuff around nowadays

Now I know. Thanks. Darn, I used some wood glue to firm up some cracks and crevices after using a bolt and nails to assemble it. I didn't even give it thought that the hi grade wood glue won't hold. Lesson learned I guess. Next time I am using screws.
