Setting here in Cherokee NC not catching any fish been slow this morning. Started out at 4am raining found out my waders have holes in both feet and only 5 fish by noon. Life just doesn't get any better than this looks like I will head back out for some more fun after I get my sandwich down. Oh yah and no tags yet!

Well if the fish won't cooperate maybe you can take in some sights. By and large I get a kick out of NC folks. Best set of ppl in any state I have ever worked in by far.

I think North Carolina, overall, has the nicest, most friendly people in the US too. If I had to live anywhere else in the US, besides Ohio, I would choose North Carolina.

But we are being inundated with folks from the worst states in the union so it is getting mighty hard to paint with that broad brush now. Matter of fact, I have lived in NC all my life and I would not put NC anywhere near the top of the list for most friendly people. But glad to hear that quite a few of you have had good experiences here. grin

That stretch that runs thru the reservation gets fished pretty hard if that’s where you’re trying. If you go back into the park, go towards Cade’s Cove and turn left at the Tremont Institute sign near the Townsend entrance (TN side of the park). You can take a gravel road about three miles along the middle prong of the Little River and it’s full of good holes. Most tourists go right past it.

I will be there in a week and a half for the bluegrass festival. The river that runs down by the casino runs right behind my camper (farther upstream from the casino though) and it always has plenty of stocked trout.

Amen, brother! But as mentioned earlier, outsiders are quickly ruining it. Bandy, save your money and stay out of the casino. The Park right above the Rez has some great trout fishing as well. Single hook only. Especially right before dark. There are some monster brown up around the peace corp camp!

It's 10 fish a day and they always stock good trout. I'm at Cherokee cabins right behind the casino I'm setting here looking at the bright lights. Still got 2 more tournaments one in July and one in September may not make July but will be here for the big one in September that's the 20,000.00 tag tournament.
