We were going to suffer 70% casualties breaching Iraq's obstacle belts into Iraq and Kuwait back in 1991 too. The only thing they have going for them is lots and lots of targets. We have 11 aircraft carriers at sea at any given time, they have ONE carrier. China is a paper dragon. They don't have to fire a shot. Have you missed all the shortages we have had since the covid fiasco. Globalization and cheap goods came with a price. They also have deals with Russia. Besides we didn't beat China in Korea or Vietnam.

Our tax dollars go to build their military, not sure who told you they only had one air craft carrier, they just built 3 new one's!
This war is already lost, voter's don't want a mean tweeter, that's all that matters, most couldn't find China on a map and don't have a clue what is really going on.

I think new technology will win future wars. For the most part, the Chinese are nearly incapable of coming up with new technology on their own. The problem is that there are many in the western world willing to sell them new technology.

China is an ancient country with a very different perspective that is playing the long game. Drop by drop they become more powerful and know the real way to control is through economics and diplomacy. Their current ambitions are to control the Indian Ocean to better secure African resources.
If the US government was playing a similar long game and not so prideful we'd be allying with the Ruskies. We can't play the long game. China is ruled by one person for decades who chooses his successor. We elect a whole new government every 2 years. The long game is theirs. We tried to put America first for 4 years and it has all been undone in 6 months.

K52, we couldn't beat them in Vietnam because we had one president (LBJ) who had our soldiers fighting with one hand tied behind their back. Then another president (Nixon) who sounded tough when it came to bombing the north with his threats. When the NVA tested his resolve, he backed down. In the end, Nixon lost the war for us.
