He passed away from lung cancer and not covid. BJ was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer just two months ago. He didn't have to linger and suffer for a long time.

He sang the title song of Raindrops Keep Falling On My head in the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid that launched his career. He went on to win five grammies . He was a good friend of Elvis Presley and sang at his memorial service.

We have just about lost all of the old true country and gospel singers. I hear on the tv about country super star so and so and I have never even heard their name.
Or maybe I am just too old.

Rest in peace BJ Thomas. You were a good man.

Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.

I was given his book “ Home Where I Belong” almost 40 years ago for a graduation gift. It was about the dangers of drugs and his recovery. I still have it today. He was one of my favorites.
