I have a 87 S10, rust very bad , 300 k plus it, could be 350, but ok motor an trans, radiator other stuff, bad rust, shouldn't be driven an need exhaust fix now, junk tires, not sure junk worth but if do it be bfore registration renew, not park street, would be worth swap motor run gear in something another gm truck if find one worth cost trouble ?

I'd say its time to get rid of that one, Dave. Don't put another penny into it. Take the few hundred the scrap yard will give you for it and save it toward any repairs your other truck may need at some point.

No. It's not worth swapping a motor/trans with 300k into anything unless you're going to rebuild it first, and it would be cheaper to get a lower mileage junkyard motor than to rebuild it. Don't do it.

If they are doing demolition Derbys and racing at your local fairs might get a little more than junk price from someone looking for a vehicle for that. I agree it is time to let that one go.

I doubt worth $300 junk, unless way up, it was rebuilt motor recently rebuilt when got it in 2004, might have 80-100 k on rebuilt , motor is good as well other stuff but bad rust thru out , I was use it in case dire emergency vechile or drive once every few weeks but now exhaust pipe is bad lot plavez fall apart , tires are junk

Sell it for parts and let someone else have some bad luck for a while.

I would get new tires, fix the exhaust , and put a rebuilt LS conversion in it and use it for my dating vehicle. chicks dig rusted out trucks.

In all seriousness if it's just tires and a loud exhaust I would put on cheap tires and get some ear pulds to wear in it from work. (Yes I have done that) An extra vehicle is nice when your primary goes down.

Junk it, Dave. It's not worth fixing. You could sell parts off of it if you want.

Take it to the scrap yard and don't look back

The way the market is put it up for sale and see what happens.

Put a reasonable price on the truck, describe it reasonably accurately, post it on a free advertising site, such as Craigslist and see if it sells. You'll likely get more for it then just junking it.

You fight rust and rust wins. Find a solid truck in SD and put money into that rather then some rust bucket in salt country.
