At least two different times as a fire fighter I went to the crematorium. Dispatched for Black smoke rolling form the building.
Fire was politely listed as malfunction in a furnace..
Malfunction as in very over weight individual cause runaway grease fire.
I guess that really was malfunction? maybe design flaw?

Saves them on the gas bill maybe. I wonder if the family got a discount.

Saves on cemetery lot space too.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

This is what I'm thinking for me. It's handcrafted, minimalist and moderately priced. Already talked to family about picking one up and storing it in the garage until it's needed. I've been toying with being buried on my property near my cabin. Maine makes it pretty easy to do that. Just need to go to the town office and record the location on paper and mark the plot on site. No embalming required in Maine, a morbid practice in my mind. No concrete vaults required.

When I checked to get buried on my farm in Indiana I had to have a fund with 300k in it for future maintenance.
Once again the government destroyed my plan of having a family plot on our farm. I was wanting to have my son moved as well as now it would be nice since mom has cancer.

A good friend of mine has it in his will to be filled with popcorn seed before cremation. He has quite a sense of humor.

This is Arthur, he was my best friend. Died from cancer. I asked him for some of his ashes before he passed. He seemed genuinely surprised anyone would want them. He helped me cut the logs for my cabin. I told him I was going to put his ashes under my outhouse. He crapped on me in life and I intended to crap on him in death. He laughed. I'll sprinkle the remains when the cabin is complete. [Linked Image]
