They are cool critters. They have one at Sea World in San Antonio and the thing literally likes to cuddle with its trainers

Whales fascinate me. I wonder just how stupid they think we are.

Do you dry it That Fool? I have never seen anyone eat whale meat unless it was dried.

I have eaten it boiled with the mungduck . Its not bad at all. Real black meat that looks like a roll of thread wound up. Was not tough and taste similar to seal.
Oh and the baby ones are prized here for their tender gray skin.

we dry the meat, can have dry the meat and put in seal oil too. I ate the muktuk last night. We usually boil the muktuk. We mostly get white ones, but will end up with grey ones in whale nets. Should be some in the bay

You sure that is a baby. Looks awful big to me and not gray like a calf.

Had some mattak yesterday; prefer it raw vs. boiled.

I was told it is a baby..... I dunno that much about them myself so it could very well be an adult!

A calf would be accompanied by a cow one too unless the mother is dead. Mention that to ur people.

BTW - thanks for posting. This one probably from the Saguenay population of upper/western north shore Quebec. They stray about the Gulf of St. Lawrence at times. The next closest regular population is farther in northern Labrador.
