I have a large mink, still on the stretcher hanging in my garage. I figure I have to either tan it or get it in the freezer. What my chances that I can get it to fold and go into a bag for freezing? Will I have to rehydrate it a bit?

If the pelt is stretched and dried, I would put it in the freezer the way it is (after removing the stretcher). I think you taking a risk of rehydrating. IMO

Yep. Lots of fur slippage happens when furs are left in the rehydration bath too long if no precautions are taken. Cant imagine a mink not fitting in a freezer unless it's a Louisiana mink or demi mink or your freezer is packed.

Wrap it in saran wrap and throw it in the freezer.

Just don't use to much saran wrap, it a $5 mink at best. Home tan it and be done with it, if the bugs haven't ate it.

Adding water or moisture to make it limber again, as if it hadn’t been stretched and dried.
