The lake I live near is covered with floating trees stumps and old boards. I have thought with the "old wood" look people are nuts over a man could make a fortune. If you had a pontoon and a small mobile sawmill to cut boards , fireplace mantles and plaques. PLUS the taxidermy pieces are floating and lying on the bank by the thousands. Made this for my grand babies turtle tank for a basking log. It stands in the corner of a 55 gallon tank.

Yup it'll sell just have to hide the screws or paint em black.

People buy goofy stuff when they own a lake home.
Must be a bunch of consignment shops around there that would be a place to start with a couple cool looking chunks.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Participation trophy for SEC football teams.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I was going to say something about the SEC, but will let yours stand. laugh Yes I think that kind of stuff would sell. But is this a government lake, corp of engineers or TVA, or even state. They might have some stupid regulations if they find out you are making money off their dead wood.

Take the pieces to your local taxidermist. I have had good luck with roots and different looking wood that I pull from beaver dams.

Taxidermist down here was paying $500 for a full-size pickup bed level full of solid drift wood from area rivers. This was 10 years ago. Probably much more now.

Might oughta check the laws first. I got fined for picking up some petrified wood on the Miss river about 20 yrs ago. Was told nothing along or in the river can be taken without permits, which are not possible to get.

Taxidermist want dry and light. Most of the time
Gather a cross section of what is there and drive to a few taxi shops
Different people like different things and see different things
For example.
If that angled piece was cut across corner from end to end
It would probably make a beautiful live edge taxied fish plack
I have a taxi man I sell multifloral rose root to
There's a market for everything

No Corp pays a contractor 300,000 a year to chop it up and blow the chips back into the lake. Jet ski operators hate them because stopped up impeller

To me it would make a great display to hang hand crafter jewelry on. Think a silversmith with polished stones at a gun and knife show.

Try it out as a fleshing beam.
Looks a bit punky for firewood.
