I wish there was more support of the chocolate being a boar. Appreciate all the input! They are still coming in together. . . . . . and then there is this little fellow. Once he left three minutes before the other two showed up and he comes in an hour or less after they leave. Likely not a shortage of bears where you are. Bait is temporarily distracting them from moose calves. Shoot them both. If I shot both, I couldn't hunt better eating and fatter fall bears.

the chocolate being that large if it were female the head would look smaller in proportion to the body, the black is definitely male, the chocolate is a larger bear but the head is the same size as the black, I'm saying both males, not breeding season so no competition for breeding rights. JMHO Peak of breeding seaon.

That chocolate does APPEAR to be a bit taller than the black. If that little guy is alone, I wonder if some one popped his mom. He looks too small to be on his own.
The chocolate is bigger though they may weigh about the same. I also wonder why the little one is alone. When I first saw him I was wondering where mom was, because he was in a tree right above me at the bait. Already got one. So only two more this calendar year. I have had grizzlies at my baits before only in the fall though. White and Posco- Cinnamon or chocolate bears are around, but this is the first that I had a chance at.

Bag limits in Alaska are almost all REGULATORY year. The reg. year ends July 1. Hurry and shoot the brown one or both. You have till June 30 to shoot a griz. July 1 your 3 black limit starts over. Better read upon the Regs!

Hunting license is calendar, bag limits are requlatory. While you’re hemming and hawing, those 2 bears killed and ate the nice bull you would have shot 3 years from now. 😪 Sheesh! You want to kill the bears more than I do. I doubt they killed anything since they started coming in. I feed them to well. I like bear meat, but I don't go around shooting everything just because I can. Bears killed anytime of the year save moose calves. Whether that spring or the next. Balance in management.

Breading season is august here That seems late but the state claims bear will breed through August here as well. I see more bear right about now than I do any other time of year. Boars are wandering day and night looking for love. Look at the day and time stamps on these video clips. I had another video that I deleted of a smaller bear that moved through just prior to these males. It was a smaller bear I guessed was a sow in heat and these guys were hot on her trail. I had the camera up for trespassers, not bear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmFAwj_UYQEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC4t7WaRskk
