Plastered all over face book $80 just don’t trust buying anything off of there. Was thinking add some vegetable oil and use it to cut up bait like beaver for cubbies maybe. Thoughts
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I know a guy used to process bison with a chain saw. Said it had never seen bar oil he used heavy wt rendered fat and tore it down then pressure washed it after each big job.
Hint, wear goggles or even a face mask, stiff goes everywhere

One trapper here, just outside of Cochrane had a huge frozen shire horse in his front yard all winter.Cut just like firewood at 4o below.Whenever he went trapping he cut a chunk off. It looked funny in his front yard, all 4 legs were up in the air for a time while he wittled away at it with the chainsaw. Biggest horse I ever seen about twice the size of a moose.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

You need to make scribe cut with a knife to follow. It does throw some nasty stuff while cutting. We have also used a battery powered sawzall for the same task. They work well also.

I like my cordless sawzall for harvesting ribs and lobbing off legs when I have something hung up so that it cant move. The tool itself isn't overly well suited for anything past that because the blade displacement is transferred into the chunk you are working on but for hanging meat where gravity holds everything still it is the hot set up as far as I am concerned.
Small hack- a bread bag or a newspaper bag can be slid up the saw leaving only the blade sticking out- cleaning up the saw is then minimal if it even needs done.
