Did a garbage runto the the dump last weekend (recycling center, if you want to get fancy). There's always a pile of free stuff on the side. I spied a telltale green case and brought home my prize. It was in pretty good shape and even has a replacement generator still in the package. I had time today to check it out. Tank pumped up and held pressure. Main burner lit after 2 tries. Second burner lit right away. I'm pretty happy [Linked Image]

Good deal. I have one like yours, a single burner multi-fuel and a 3 burner. All are old and still work great

Great find!! I collect those things along with the lanterns. Probably have 50-60 or more. Some of the lanterns are worth some decent money.

Awsum find. I lost mine in a move somewhere. Lots of meals and great memories when I was in boy scouts. You know before they lost their bearings.

I found my old one last week when I was in CA cleaning out the house. Automatic memory maker. My mom could whip up a meal for five of us without an effort and mine was on a lot of hunting and fishing trips.

I got one at a garage sale and it is like the guys say older and works very well. Compared to you I over paid at $20 but that is ok because I have easily gotten $100 use out of it.

JMO the older Coleman lanterns and stoves are hard to beat

Some of the finest meals I ever ate have been cooked on one of those. I have two of them. One is the large version

These old stoves are great. I used one a lot when I was a kid. Camping with the family and Boy Scouts. After that it was deer hunting with my dad. He just gave me his old stove last year, so this one makes two.

I have an old (60's) lantern in my garage where I skin mink and muskrat, It throws nice light and warms the hands up a bit (no heat in the garage),

Those are great stoves one I have like it came from similar deal.. dumpster pick.. One I use the most and like best is big 3 burner. Also have one that takes the LP tanks. I think the white gas stove are bit more monkeying, but run hotter than LP.

I've also read that you can convert the white gas to propane. And the white gas have bigger burners than the the new propane, so you get more heat than the new propanes. I will look into that if/when white gas gets hard to find.

I don't know about the newer stoves so much. But I have a newer Colmen lantern I was given. It can run on regular unleaded gas. What every one now buys as Rec Gas. I can say I have cheated and ran my old stove on that Rec gas. I think there is some difference in the generators between ones can run white gas and regular unleaded.
