Coming home from washing the racecar this morning, it was like hitting mayflies they were swarming across the road so thick.

I seem to hear'em year round...lol

Mine too Donnie. The noise of the cicadas sound just like my tinnitus but much louder.

Nice to hear them while laying in bed.

Am I strange? I find the sound so soothing and relaxing.

We had them for years until the fire ants. I guess 1989 was our last good hatch in my area of Arkansas.

It sure is. I got a whole swamp full of them too. Might grab a beer tonight and sit out and listen to them for a bit.

That link is an interesting read. Maybe when Biden does away with cows , farmers can get in on the ground floor raising grass hoppers. They are 4 times more efficient at producing protein. No special slaughter required and might even replace chewing tobacco, lol. Thanks for the link.

Last 2 days thought that noise was deep freeze in garage when walking out on back porch but very noticeable today. Freezer makes a different noise. My hearing is bad!!!

Cicadas are edible and eaten by large numbers of people. People with shellfish allergies may be allergic to cicadas.

We visited family in southern Indiana this weekend. You could hear them buggers while driving down the highway with the windows up and radio blaring. They seamed to be Really thick near the swampy areas

Most turkey nest have already hatched by now. We already have quail chicks running around.

Don’t insects poop. If you eat them like cicadas your eating what’s inside them also! Not for me, just the thought.
