I started a bookkeeping business this year and I've been searching for outfitters and other outdoors companies to keep books for. I figured this would be a good place to ask about it.

If anyone here is interested, send me a PM or an email (wildmindllc@gmail.com) so we can discuss the details. I'll be out trapping on public land the week of the 14th, so pardon me ahead of time if I don't get back to anyone

Are you an accountant, or a CPA? Just wondering how you plan to advance your business.

Neither. I just finished up a bookkeeping course I've been in for about a year. Really I'd like to take some stress out of business management. One woman I talked to spends well over 3 hours/day doing her books on top of managing others. Why not delegate the task to someone who can do it more efficiently and get your time back? That way the owner can focus their energy on more important business matters.

That's my train of thought, anyway. I'm always open to criticism, so if you've got some I'd love to hear it

With bookkeeping software the way it is today, why is anyone with a small business spending 3 hours a day “doing the books”? Is she still doing a double ledger by hand, with paper,,pension and an adding machine?

Not trying to rag on you, just curious. Thanks

I have a small library.

Does that make me a bookkeeper?

It's mostly because of the number of transactions she gets daily. Other than that, I'm not sure what keeps her

If she has so many transactions per day, do you offer software that aggregates these transactions or does she still have to list them individually and send them to you ?
