You can get your permit started on your 18th birthday in indiana and have it in 6 weeks or so. You can't buy from a dealer tell your 21 but that's what your parents or privet party sales are for.
I was at the police station with pre completed paper work waiting for the fellow to open the window and get my permit started on my 18th birthday when they opened.
I'm 41 and had my permit ever since, well except for when I carried for 2 years on an expired permit before they started offering a lifetime permit. That sounds like a felony !!!!  w

No permit needed here now before it was 18 to carry with a permit but 21 to buy a handgun by Federal law.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

That sounds like a felony !!!! w No at most it's a state violation not federal. Would have been carrying on expired permit or without not sure how it would be wrote ? I don't believe many cops around here would do more that point it out and tell you to get it renewed. I'm not in New York, California, or Illinois after all. I also have little interaction with leo. Mostly every 3-5 years I will get a speeding and seatbelts ticket I earn Or it's a cop trying to meet his quota fishing/board later at night when in getting off a 16hr shift or heading in early for one.
