I have a few beaver I would like to get tanned. Can anyone recommend a tannery that puts out a quality product with good turnaround times and fair prices. Thanks

It might be difficult to find a tannery with a quality product and a good turnaround time. You can have it good or you can have it fast but you, for the most part, can’t have it good AND fast. smile

This time of year, with seasons over and low fur prices, most tanneries are busy.

Moyles in Idaho does a very nice job on beaver. Their turnaround time right now is 5-6 months or thereabouts. If you ship pelts to them in December or January the turnaround time is much faster. They do offer a 40 day service, for an additional fee.

I went with sleepy creek in Iowa 4 few years ago. Tanning was good but but raccoons were very stiff. These trannerys get busy and they don’t want to take the time to drum the pelts soft. Make sure you tell who every go with in writing I want pelts back soft. If not they they will tell you you paid for tanning and you got a great tanning job. MD
