I just bought a Matt Jones 2004 coon trapping VHS video. Good Stuff! Does he still have a trapping business? In the video it showed 3-Rivers Trapping Supply but queries to that address only show Carman’s 3-Rivers mink lure at various dealer locations.

He and Len Williams did a super job. It was well worth the money. Is he still trapping or is he doing primarily commercial fishing?

Matt Jones is one heck of a trapper and all around outdoorsman. I do not believe he runs a trapping business. (But he may sell some products. You would have to contact him. I have bought some fine fish oil etc. from him over the years.)
He has many DVDs on the market and all are top notch. He is not one of those blow hard braggers that often come to mind like the puppy trapper.

Matt and another top flight trapper runs a top notch predator trapping school each winter. If you want to trap in the hard core conditions those boys do, it would be worth the coin. Lord I would pay the tuition just to hear the man's stories.

Well Chris, it is a tad sad when a man that can truly rack up the numbers when the prices are there, has a ton of experience, just plain get sick of the crap that gets thrower around at times. A lot of valuable members have walked away.

Probably you will cry your kind self to sleep now.

Father's Day is coming! Dad doesn't need another tie, or another coffee mug! Give him a gift that he'll carry with him the rest of his life!
Now taking reservations for January 2022!
We've made some changes for next year. We'll be doing four groups of four students, for three days each in mid to late January. The cost of the three days of instruction will be $1000.00. A 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to reserve a spot.
Ride along instruction on a working predator longline with two expert instructors - Matt Jones from KY and Bryan Nelson from VA. Running 80-125 sets on a most of the day trap check.
First class lodging and meals for $80 per night - breakfast and dinner at the lodge, sack lunch in the field.
The school is held in western Kentucky (Paducah area).
Don't miss out, book your spot today!
Education doesn't cost, it earns.

Looks like last time he logged in was in 19 . If I remember correctly he left then came back for a little while and is gone again. Wish he would come back he was full of knowledge , I remember meeting him a few times At a few conventions he was a down to earth guy , not like a few I know that’s really stuck on their self .

Please don't read my comment the wrong way. Matt and I are friends and enjoyed a trapline together. I honestly miss him posting on here and would love for him to start again. A few years back somebody belittled his commercial fishing and perhaps that turned him off to the site. It certainly was not me!

That explains a lot!!!!!!

That man was forever cutting parts of his body off, or afraid a woman was going too.

Chris, I remember when the commercial fishing thing went on. I was sad to see him go.

As you can see Matt is Commercial Fisherman, where I come from and according to Maritime Tradition and Law, he should be addressed as Captain. No doubt he just may have a license. that indicates that title. A commercial fisherman like Matt is a very rare item in todays world. I communicate with Matt once in a while on FB, and will probably visit with him in a year or two (its on my punch list, i think i would prefer running trot lines and nets with him). I have seen his posts when he was on that river in the most adverse conditions, that is one tough man. He is quite an individual, a river man maybe like Mike Fink of yesteryear. The world could use more men Matt Jones, and yes he is a very good trapper. Any trappers that want some entertainment should watch his videos, they are classic and full of stories, his fur handling segments give him more opportunity to tell stories. I keep them with my Thorpe CDs. Some of the best entertainment out there

Matt Jones was great to have around here. I can clearly remember him and J Lord tradin back handed compliments and every post along those lines was hilarious
