X2 about the bug juice. My brother and I took our boys years ago. We had a great time. We were able to canoe very close to a black bear. The negative was how big and many mosquitoes there were.

There is a fire around Hassel lake that has led to some closures in that area, hope you're not affected by that. Good luck on the lakers.

You are welcome. I didn't want Leftlane stewing over it during his recovery. He has cute nurses to tend to.

I love that place. I went June 1 at stuart river entry. Camped on stuart lake one night and then went into sundial pma June 2 thru 5 camped on sterling lake. Came out of pma on fifth and stayed on stuart again. Then went up to knife lake a day. Came back down to stuart and took the west portage to the river. Almost to Agnes lake I bushwacked north to barista lake then camped on Agnes. Got home last night. Wow was it hot! No flies and few mosquitos except the last two days. But those two days were the worst I've ever seen the flies. Caught tons of walleye and small pike. I carried a big rod and trolled some 2 oz baits hunting monsters and finally hooked into something big on knife. It felt huge on my 7'-6" heavy fast. I use braid but I had about 10' of 25lb fluorocarbon topshot. It finally broke about 3' below the braid/florocarbon knot. I'll probably go back 2 more times this year. I know I'm going in the fall. Be safe and have fun.

When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

What lures/baits did you decide to bring with?

Good luck!
