Agreed. Next closest thing would be a Baltimore Oriole, but they are usually brighter and have wing patches.

Cotton, I'm with Yotetrapper30 on this. Orchard Oriole (Male).

Forgive me; I'm in no way familiar with birds from your vicinity. But I have my superb, Sibley, field guide here and love a challenge grin

Only other thing that comes near is a Black Headed Grosbeak. But, the jiz just doesn't catch the eye.

It's also notable that (Possibly by location?) OO's come in both 'Yellow' and the 'Russet' form your own photo shows.

Maybe google the species a bit? See the variations? You'd understand the locations better too wink
