Freedom is an illusion the US has done an excellent job of selling its people. The proof is in the thinking that a gun makes one free. crazy

Our chains sit more lightly upon us than the constraints you wear. Paraphrasing one of our guys. Kinda.

Posco, please elaborate on how so. I ask you to do so without name dropping “The Constitution”. That’s the biggest part of the propaganda machine that keeps Americans believing they are so free.

I’m open to honest and sincere dialogue. In what ways beside gun laws do our “chains sit more tightly than yours? I’m not chiming in to take jabs at individuals like the middle school bullies on here, but would honestly like to know what makes you feel so free. I think the US is a free country for the most part, like us, but less free than many places. The belief in freedom there is sold from the get go of your birth by the machine that wants you to think that. Having the bulk of the populace accept that idea as undeniable has been and is extremely profitable.

So honestly, in what ways are you so free?

I appreciate your spirit but I don't have time just now to discuss it. I'll get back to you when I get freed up. No pun intended.

Has anyone bothered to watch the video where a Canadian gun rights attorney gives actual examples.

Trapdog, sorry for not being more clear. I was not saying you said that I was just saying something about freedom. In regards to saying a gun says you’re free, it was not you, but that very sentiment is stated exactly in this thread, first post of page 2.

In some countries freedom would be taking the watermelon for free without having a gun in the pocket.

Understood!
I think the thing we all want and should have is the Freedom to own firearms without undue government interference.

I think warrior summed it up nicely above. Basically, what most non-Americans fail to understand is that the right to keep and bear arms is set forth and specifically enshrined within their constitution. Unlike any other country I can think of it is guaranteed as a right and not considered a privilege. What many people from the colonies fail to understand is that these rights were set forth specifically because the English monarchy (and this is verifiable fact) where such horrible, brazen dictators. SO "The Crown" so important to Canada's founding were very much the villain in the history of the USA and by their behavior facilitated the need for armed citizenry.
Their constitution is as valid as anyone else's regardless of how it differs.
I fail to see how so many here are off put by their gun laws. I travel extensively there and feel just as safe as I do at home.

Just happy to be here.

FAIL!

if your theory were indeed valid, .gov would not be trying to take/regulate guns away; they would be encouraging citizens to "arm up" to perpetuate their illusion.

Owning a firearm wont make you more free. I have less freedom today than what i was born with and that FACT really bothers me.

While partially true yes you have less freedom. How did all those before you have even more freedom? Do you think you would keep your dwindling freedom with out guns?

They caught for it against all odds and won! Few are willing to give up the easy life they live and fight for it today. If an armed population was not holding the complete loss of freedom what are they putting so much effort into incremental disarmament.

We're exhausting peaceful means of preserving the republic. It my fall. Anyone who values freedom and makes light of our predicament is an idiot.
