I butchered a cow in February really not that hard if you could get 3-4 people it wouldn't take but one day with 2 of us and my wife packing it took Saturday and we did the last 1/4 on Sunday.

find a farm , figure out a cash price , see if they will pick it up for you with the tractor bucket , you can have them skinned and 1/4 in a couple hours

I do have to warn you , them whole cows come with a lot of soup bones

I know some places that were hit with ransom ware , the insurance company if you have cyber insurance will often pay the ransom vs paying the cost of retrieving the data

good backups and a competent I.T. staff are what save you well also file permissions that prevent the spread of the encryption process across your network.

I picked up a few Porterhouse steaks today for $6.99 per pound.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Totally agree it's the way to go if you eat a lot and are cost conscious. Talk directly to small time farmers. If like my friend, some will work on price a lot if you help.

Rand Paul's Processing Revival and Intrastate Meat Exemption Act or PRIME Act Bill would fix a lot of our meat production issues.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/2859?s=1&r=3

Big money, foreign investors are trying to kill the bill. The bill has been in limbo since it was referred to the Subcommittee on Livestock and Foreign Agriculture in 2019.

When beef processors are stalled, retail prices go up and farm prices go down. Bad for all of us.

A T bone is similar to a porter house except it is cut further forward and contains less of the tenderloin. A porter house is the fillet and the strip steak both on the bone. Most place remove the bone on a porter house and sell the fillet and strip steak separately.

Exactly. I couldn't believe it when I saw they paid the ransom. This is going to be happening constantly now!

Large company exists. Option to secure said companies online activity:

Option 1A: Hire a competent cyber security crew. Cost: Millions

Option 1B: Skimp on security then pay white-hat hackers when they find vulnerabilities. Cost: Millions

Option 2: Get exploited by a hacker not motivated by money but ideology. Cost: ????

Either of option 1's work better for me. Large companies like 1B better also because good chance taxpayers will flip some of the bill for it. Its the crony-american way

Option 4-go back to the old way and give up the savings of on line buisness-savings which are extracted(hacked) by cyber criminals anyway.

Yesterday I saw ribeye steaks at a Cub Foods store in West St Paul for $18.00/lb.

I am not the food shopper in the family, but, as far as I'm concerned: That is meat prices going sky high.

Keith

I agree it would make things better bring back the local slaughterhouse meat market . I think people are ready to buy local again they are getting weary of convenient mass produced meat and recognise the value in buying local meat
I call my senators about once a month and tell their machine or assistant to please cosponser this bill .

What's not too bad? What do different steaks go for up there?
