Putting some knives together for my gun club's summer rendezvous. One will be a shooting prize, the other an auction item. I'll make some simple sheaths for them also. The knives are 6 inch russel butcher blades and some exotic wood scales I got from a cabinet maker friend.

Nice work. Those Russel blades are a great choice, period correct, and durable. smile

And they were on sale for 12 bucks a piece. I wanted some 8 inch blades also, but those were sold out.

They make great kitchen knives. I have done a couple of them for that purpose myself.

Honestly, I can't remember. I want to say rosewood, but not sure. The smell reminds me of walnut, but it is extremely hard.
