Hey guys, can you mix gas and paint and dip your traps in it? Kinda like speed dip but instead of speed dip just use paint?
I feel like I've heard of people doing this before, just wanted to hear y'alls opinion!

Different paints have different bases. You can’t just thin paint with anything and expect good results. Find a good oil base paint like rust oleum and thin it with acetone if you really want to use paint as dip. Better yet, save the money you’d spend on paint and thinner and get yourself a quart of actual trap dip.

If none of those options work and you don’t have to awful many traps to do, just rattle can spray paint em

The standard mix is equal parts Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer and Acetone. It takes better if the metal is lightly rusted or etched.
Klean Strip Concrete and Metal Prep will etch bare steel.

I see what you’re trying to do here.Replace $18.00 a gallon acetone with $3.00 a gallon gas.I’ve thought the same thing many times.I would start with 100 0/0 gas no ethanol and mix a trial batch.Maybe a shot glass of gas to a shot glass of rust oleum.Does it seam to mix up good?Then dip some chain in and see how that goes.

Just did some 330's and 220's in 50/50 Rust-Oleum brown and acetone. Some I dipped twice, those were the ones that had zero rust. Then I took green and black Rust-Oleum spray cans and gave them a couple stripes for camo pattern

I thought the rusty metal primer brown was kind of light colored so I added about 12 percent black.Came out perfect.
