Farm ponds around here the bass need thinned. Its pretty common management to keep only the small ones. Make room for a few to get big

That's a neat looking body of water with those (cypress?) trees in it. Yeah it’s a spring fed cypress pond on a private plantation where my son works. Got some decent gators in it as well. Along with wood ducks raising babies and an huge Osprey nest. Even saw some black bellied whistling ducks. That’s the pond that has had a 14# bass caught out of it.

What a great day to share some father son time! Great quality fisheries. But isn't the limit 10/day in georgia?

Shame the couldn’t be moved to other waters.
When you kill them, they can only be caught once. Yeah, but they released a bunch too. Living the life if you ask me. Fishing with the kid, having a fish fry, and managing a resource +++

When you kill them, they can only be caught once. Most ponds down here have the same issue as described in another reply. Too many fish. The main Cypress pond is in very good health. The other pond where the majority were kept are all close to the same size. A 4# bass in that pond is considered big, whereas they are common in the Cypress pond. Without keeping fish they all get stunted. Very little bream fishing is done in either pond to keep plenty of bait for the bass.
