I was involved with Hunter and Trapper Ed with the Pennsylvania Game Commission for thirty years. Now I do Trapper Education instruction for Idaho Fish and Game. I really enjoy it.

but when they changed the course content so that ANYONE, regardless of hunting experience (or lack thereof) could teach it, I lost interest.

Been an apprentice instructor for 4 years for our trappers ed but can't seem to get a straight answer to how to become a full fledged instructor. I will probably just need to do the apprenticeship once more lol

Been an instructor here for almost 30 yrs. Approximately 800 students. Great feeling to support the sport we all love.

Trapper Ed and helped rewrite our manual also .

Certified for both but only teach Trappers Ed. When I got certified, we had to get certified do the Hunters Ed part before you could get certified to do Trappers Ed. We finally got that changed so now we can get certified for Trappers Ed only but still have to do the computer part to set up and report results for the state wildlife folks. The state wildlife folks provide all the handouts and issues the certifications and maintains the records based on our input.

2 yrs ago we did an Aug. class here in St Lawrence County. We do 4 hrs on Friday night and 4 hours the following Sat. morning. 3 guys came up from Suffolk County (Long Island). They said they couldn’t get a class closer. 8-9 hour drive one way. They had to hole up in motel. Something wrong in this State if that’s true.

I've been teaching firearms safety for around 20 years. Every session I do a class on trapping. I bring a bunch of different types of traps, scents, and show a video on the myths about the foot hold trap. My class on trapping sparks a higher interest than the firearm classes do. My trapping session always runs over my 1 hour allotted time because of all the questions I usually get.

Been doing Hunter Safety for about 15 years. Kung Flu restrictions slowed us down last year, but we are getting back up to speed now.

Hunter Safety instructor here in Alaska for many years. Now I usually only instruct the Muzzleloader classes.

I was a master trapper training instructor in New York for over twenty years and helped update the manual. The bean counters in Albany kept changing the requirements to the point of ridiculous and I got out, as did others.

I taught hunter safety for 8 years. I taught the classes in my store after hours and took them to the local range for live fire and gun handling drills.

Mostly as a service to my customers, as there weren't alot of classes in our area that were convenient for working couples whose kids wanted to hunt. I really enjoyed it and then got to see so many of them get the bug for hunting.

Been teaching trappers ed for over 30 years, i was one of the first certified trapper ed instructors in Wisc. Not many left from original class taught at Mc Kensie center.

I went the 4-H route , I instruct Rifle , Pistol , Muzzleloader's and shotgun.

I helped with a hunters ed class , I appreciate the guys/gals who do it , my focus is on teaching them to shoot and reinforcing the hunters Ed curriculum all of our powder burning disciplines require they take hunters ed. our sheriffs department was holding hunters ed classes till covid
