Perhaps a bit dramatic.

Let’s see if this new variant is 1/2 as bad as they say it is we are a long way from being done with this issue.

I wouldn't be surprised to see those numbers revised and cut in half when this all shakes out and some sanity is returned to the country. Assuming sanity returns.

Two good things from Covid for me were: getting 14 paid days off to trap, and I still can’t smell stink. I can smell sweet, but anything that stinks (dog farts, my farts, skunk, dead rotting flesh, etc) I can’t smell!

I never heard that one.

I got covid in February. Smell was gone for a couple weeks but came back. 2 months ago fresh cut grass started to smell like rubbing alcohol and bad smells smell like fried chicken. Working at a sewer plant this new ability has its perks but I would rather be able to smell what things really are.

That should really get you thinking why. ....no jab for me or my family. Especially my children. No way.

I have heard of a few other similar accounts. Definitely no fun if you're one thats body reacts like that. Worse if it's your kid.

There has been so much misinformation and conflicting info. That and the over blown responce takes away from the true seriousness of covid. Esp if your one of that fraction of a % that's healthy but dies from it..

I'm glad to gave finally gotten it. Now I have naturally immunity as God intended. I'm going th guess the same for my family anyhow the wife and kids have not been tested.

I did get ccx a call wanting me to be in a covid study for 14 days. I declined when she could not answer me how they determine the meds refuse symptoms and hospitalization. Told her I'm out putting fence up in the pasture do you really think me taking your drug experiment will realive my symptoms any faster or keep me out of the hospital?

God and sunshine seem to have me covered. I do get wore out pretty fast. Hope that will fade away soon. As you pointed out I'm one of the lucky ones. Or not one of the unluckey ones might be a better way to put it.

I had covid 2 weeks ago. Felt like crap for week and a half. Totally whipped and winded. Bad cough. Didn't eat much. Got tested on a Wednesday had results back 8 hours later. No loss of taste or smell. Wife, son and son's girlfriend all had it too.

Have a buddy with only 1.5 lungs due to a diaphragm that collapsed a few years ago. He got Covid and the first thing his Doc did was bring him in and give him the covid antibodies…Convalescent Plasma Therapy. He never got anything worse than what felt like a sinus infection.

I do know that Blake Box (Bulletbox), who was a moderator in here, and in good health as far as I know, contracted covid from another trapperman member who didn't know he had it at time, died of covid. He was a tough codger too, but not tough enough to overcome covid. He waited too long to seek medical attention.

Another of our members, John Shuke also was taken by covid. I don't know what his health condition was like at the time.

It is political in subject but not a joke/smoke whatever. I seen some people buried I cared about and regardless their health the flu shot has kept them around. I consider myself unkillable and feel I have past case history to prove. But I would not want to be the one to give this to certain people I care about and see often. I think people get quick with the tongue and pen (keyboard) on this subject that has impacted in a negative way so many.

One of the main reasons so may died, is nothing was done to cure the virous once someone had it. Instead they put them on a ventilator if it got bad, and kept cranking up the oxygen until they blew the individuals lungs out, and then said he died of Corvid. They itinually took infected people and put them back in nursing homes to spread it to heathy residents in the age they said was most variable. It was man made and spread on purpose. There was a ton of money made off this. Follow the money an who is sleeping with China and the China Flu.
My wife and I both had it, my daughters both had it, their husbands had it. It ranged from a bad cold to not knowing they had it.

All of the patients who have died thus far this week in our hospital died for any number of reasons.
I find it fascinating when I read about Americans being known as being a country of people with immense ambiguity regarding the end of life.
As in, it won't ever happen.

I routinely hear as I stand with those grieving;
"I just can't believe she's gone."
"I really thought he'd live forever."
"Who ever thought she'd die like this?"
"A child isn't suppose to die so soon."
"We were going to retire and travel together."
"How can he be dead when he looked so healthy?"

There is an endless list of these types of laments.

Who ever sold Americans on the fact that the end of life is according to our schedule?
And that we are an ambiguous people about the end called death?
It sure doesn't seem to be the case that we live forever.

Blessings,
Mark

what is the probability of getting it a second time? last I heard, it was EXTREMELY low.

where's the SCIENCE?

Something like 60 confirmed cases of reinfection. Hardly something to worry about. Second case of ebola might b e a bit problematic but ebola covid is not which is what all the panic pushers think it is.

COVID is a political issue and fund raiser for both sides and that makes looking at the whole process in a rational and common sense manner very unlikely as there is too much vested on either side now. I am still very grateful I got a science degree as one can get all the political science one could care for at no investment in time or money.
