I drive about 35,000 miles a year for work, I get an auto allowance from the company I work for, but it translates to about $0.20/mile. I'm getting hosed. It's costing me about $40 a week more than last year. That's about a $2,000 pay cut for the year. At least I don't have to worry about paying more federal income tax... mad

$3.09 for nonethanol gasoline in Elkton,VA. Down 9-10 cents per gallon. I can't complain.

I hope you are claiming the difference in the mileage rate allowance. You're leaving about $13,000 on the table

Unfortunately, an employee can no longer write off mileage for commuting. One of the few things that suck from the Trump tax cut bill. Now, if I was an independent contractor. Sure, no problem.
