Has anybody on here been raising them I know nothing about them but there is an operation about 40 miles from me that raises and markets the meat. They sell online, have a store in town and go to Austin on weekends and sell meat to the "crazies". Pictures of the live cattle on their website look like corriente. http://wintersfamilybeef.com/I do know that my crowd is not going to pay $31.50 a pound for wagyu steaks.
Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.

Is that those steaks that are riddled with fat so people with no teeth can eat them?

I read it takes 2 1/2 years to get one to butcher weight

They are skinny because they store their fat in the muscle instead of back fat . I wonder if the F 1s would grass finnish easier than other breeds I see your reasoning and I suppose it is possible? You out writin them big checks now? No , i am thinking about venturing into the world of artificial insemination though . You can get into the game pretty reasonable . I read it takes 2 1/2 years to get one to butcher weight My thought process is not to produce a IMF gade5 wagyu steak . my end goal is to produce a 1 1/2 old grass finished stier with some decent marbeling in the steaks . There is a huge demand for a smaller framed grass finished beef right now .

Are you planning on buying the steers or breeding your own cows? I would like to do grass fed finished steers but I would buy Angus steers at weaning and finish them out, finding wagyu steers seems tough.
