Anyone have experience with the faith based insurance plans? See Dave Ramsey the financial guy gives them decent reviews.

My farm friends up in Iowa are on one and have nothing but good things to say.

I've been on one in the past but never had any medical bills come in while I was on that plan. I know someone that had Liberty Health share and the total cost to deliver a baby was $500. I believe they had to pay the bill up front then got reimbursed. Not 100% sure on that last point.

I use Christian Healthcare Ministries. It is way cheaper than insurance. I have to pay the first $500 for each health event/issue. I pay all my bills upfront and then they will reimburse.

I get much better medical care as well. I never have to wait for insurance approval. If I want an MRI I just go get it.

You do have to play some games to get the best price. We won't pay a bill until they start calling about it being over due. Then we ask for a discount if we pay it off in one shot. They usually offer at least 40% off the bill.
