I was given a whole roast beef and im thinking of using it for coyote trapping. Just curious if it would be better to cut it into chunks or ferment it in the sun? This is something new for me, asking for any suggestions.

Is it raw or cooked? If raw just treat it like any meat you would use for bait. Chunk it and let taint let your nose be your guide then preserve it with sodium benzoate. If it’s cooked I don’t have experience with that.I suppose it would work about the same but if it’s been seasoned maybe not so well.

Grind that sucker and add deer or whatever other meat you have until you have a gallon. Then add a pint of bait solution. That ought to give you something to work with.
