This isn't really news. This happens anywhere near suburbia here (and elsewhere). Most cities around me have total trapping and hunting bans. Get used to it. Aint going away.

we got a new police chief in 2015 in 2016 he wanted direction on how the trapping permit should be issued , the archery hunting and trapping permits for city land not in the city were canceled , took me a year to get language that satisfied the parties involved to basically get back to where we had been.

we did loose archery hunting not because there are not an excess of deer , but because it basically got turned into a dog park by residents

This is how the cops get overtime. Some retirement programs are based upon the previous 2-3 years of the officers income prior to retiring. Time and a half pay spent jacklighting deer at night in a patrol car is a good way to increase retirement pay, as well as being a lot of fun.
