Slather a couple pieces of bread with a thick coat of mayonnaise, mayernaise in Mississippi, insert a thick slice or two of Vidalia onion. Fine eating right there.

I like a thick slice of ham or corned beef but after I have a base to build on like that I can pile the onions high!

Here are some of ours we've been thinning them like crazy to get ahead of the mold . We've given that many away , potatoes the same way . The carrots were a complete loss .

Been eating these with these. Normally one to two per day. Makes this time of year tolerable! [Linked Image]

One of my, and my Bride's, favorite sandridges! I, unfortunately, have new store bought uppers and it is a real pain to eat anything crunchy any more. I eat a lot of water sandwiches.

Sorry to hear bro.
We had too much hot and dry this summer, garden not as productive as usual.
Then it got cool and wet, so Septoria Leaf blight and Powdery mildew became big issues.

In my area , we, Shriners sell Vidalia onions as a fund raiser. They are the best onions that you can get and the Shriners are wonderful supporters of children's hospitals.

Georgia Dept of Ag is very protective of the Vidalia onion. The name is trademarked and copyrighted and in order to use it the onion must be grown in certain counties only, unique soil type, and be one of the approved varieties of Grano onions. The dept grows out varieties each year to ensure the varieties stay true as well.
