Any current info on prices/buyers? Seem to recall someone mentioned a Carson as a good buyer quite a while back. Thanks

I think at the last auction price was around $140/lb for western light.

dried castor has to be a pale brown colour to be graded Western pale special market for that grade does not dis-colour when used in the product.
mostly from beaver raised on trembling aspen or popular And not fresh frozen. That can make castor dark colored.

Advertise it on TrapShed for $90 lb plus shipping. You can always drop the price but if your castor is decently handled that’s what it’s currently worth. So weigh it, figure shipping costs and advertise it for sale. Good idea, thanks.

Thanks wise by my math that's $5.55/oz or $88.88/lb

I sold 1lb 2oz to a local buyer for $100 a month ago. What I’d like to know is who the buyers that don’t use it in lure sell to? I think some goes to Europe, how much are those buyers paying $2-300/lb?? I have no idea but there must be a decent margin. The overseas castoreum market is a pretty secretive affair from what I have seen. I hear that quite a bit goes to Pakistan and also quite a bit goes to western Europe. I think it all makes its way into the perfume trade at some point.
