Agree with corn snake. It’s breeding season for corals around my house, had to take the boot to two so far this week.

Hanger- I have only caught two coral snakes in my life, and that was about 40 years ago; haven't seen another one since. They were both less than two feet in length. Would you post a few pictures of the ones in your area?

I always heard them referred to as a Red Rat Snake, not sure if it's correct or not.

Never seen a coral snake but I understand we have them. Have seen the king snake version. I’ve just always remembered red on yella kills a fella.

It’s the kind of snake that gets whacked with a shovel.

Only time I'd whack one is if I decided I wanted more rats and mice. Corn snakes are great- I guess I never knew them by any other name

I used to call them Milk Snakes also, we had a lot of them in NJ when I was a kid there. Copper heads too. I posted this photo several months ago and I was corrected by some one calling it a corn snake. I did not know they were related to King snakes. This little fella was only about 30 inches long, I sort of remember them being much longer, but I was small when we lived it that house......jk
