Was talking with some of my friends from up north and Canada and told them I was getting some chicken from the gas station and they thought it was the weirdest thing ever. They legit asked " How can it be fresh ?! It's not like they have a deep fryer right behind the register ! " Wellllll yes yes they do

Well it is as normal as fried cheese curds here.

the Mobil station has Chesters Fried chicken and it is good stuff they have deep friers right behind the register it is best to call ahead

KwiK Trip also has Fried chicken as well as take home meals of all sorts , they have a full commercial kitchen in the back you can call ahead and ask for fresh
if you want a pizza they need 5 minutes to cook one while you wait

We have Gas Station fried chicken here in Iowa also.

when your in a small town or rural place there isn't necessarily enough business for you to have just one business.

common for gas , bait , boats , guns , ammo , beer and liquor even some camping gear to all be one store they sell smokes also and sometimes fireworks a regular ATF and Bait store & more.

when you go to the local bait shop there will often be a sign , go around back if you need bait.
Paul runs the mechanic shop around back , in another building but will come over and get you bait or tackle on Fridays when fishing is good his wife will operate the bait shop all day they also have storage units they rent

for a while the pizza place sold bait & tackle also , now they have a coffee shop & pizza that share the building the owners are cousins or something.

We have it here in certain Gas stations

Pizza, Subway, Chester Chicken and a lot of other add ons here.

gimme a cup of them boiled peanuts while you're at it!!!!

I'd trade that chicken for some Casey's breakfast pizza.

Wife use to work at a gas station and made chicken, pressure cooked deep fryer. Man was that good.

Used to be this one in Birmingham on 65N Finley Blvd exit that had the best biscuits ham and red eye gravy.

I think the name of the place is Nick's, it's off I-40 at Brinkley and has some really good chicken livers.

No fried chicken, but you can get coffee, beer and snacks in the attached minimart, and a Turkish guy talking back home on the phone to take your money...

My brother and I were driving from Texas to PA years ago and stopped to get gas in Mississippi and the place had fried chicken, Fat Jimmies! We got a 20 piece bucket and it was the best fried chicken we ever ate. Chicken bones were spread from Mississippi to PA.

Chester Fried Chicken at the I-80 Snow Shoe exit. At the truck service plaza. Pretty good chicken.

I have had Gus's World Famous fried chicken in Memphis. I've had gas station fried chicken that was better. Some grocery store deli counter fried chicken better still.

And every trip north to the farm requires a stop at Casey's for breakfast pizza and two cups of Joe. Second is to get me home late that night.
