I have this mink board hanging in my fur shed from NTA 2001 in Mason City, Iowa and here we are 20 years later going to NTA in North Central Iowa!!
If memory serves correctly it is where most of us that had been talking via IRQ and Otter Creek
Chat met for the first time after many years of online discussion! There were a few that were there but missed signing the mink board!! If I remember correctly even Jtrapper made the trek for this one!! A few great trappers and friends that were with us in Mason City have passed and have left us to carry on but with that said they will not be forgotten!! Tie dyed shirts and all!!

Many happy memories of that convention, good friends made and met. Jtrapper , MsCat, cotton. A long list for sure.
Sadly a few are missing, not only the tye dyed one, but wolfer as well.

yes that was the first NTA id attended after attending my first in 1984 in Cookeville, Tn. Id met Charlie Dobbins at it for the first time and in 2001 I met his son Paul for the first time.

Was even the first Trapperman feed. Met a lot of folks there that became forever friends as well.

Couldn’t remember if the first Trapperman feed was Mason City or Mansfield, OH the next year.

I remember that one too! Been to Mason City either three or four times for conventions, both FTA and NTA.

You can still wear it. When you do, go shop at Wal-Mart with it on. You'll fit right in. Might even get your pic posted on the infamous people at Wal-Mart page. LOL.

Was 20 + hours for me with 3 kids, a dog, and a pregnant wife in an extended cab truck. A great convention but a horrible trip.

I was there camping in my old trailer. I was cooking Halibut and fed a couple young guys from northwest Iowa and they returned the favor with a great Iowa steak. I met Major Boddicker who gave a great presentation of coyote calling and I even won the beard contest. I haven't shaved since so it's a little longer. I can't make Spencer this year. I will be getting ready for the Minnesota convention the following weekend in Barnum, Mn which is about 30 miles south of Duluth and Lake Superior.

I remember this convention very well. I introduced the Lil' Grizz Trap to the public for first time. I had no idea what to expect and knew something was up that I wasn't prepared for. I lost my voice talking non stop for over 4 hours straight and got an opportunity to walk around to see what was going on. Jtrapper, MsCat, Wolfer and many other T-man members I got a chance to meet. I didn't take long after the convention was over to get results how the Grizz Trap was working for everyone.

The Iowa Trappers put on a real good show.

Getrz, I bought 100 of your traps at that convention and you were the absolute best business person I dealt with. I had a prototype PVC DP I was working on but when I saw yours I immediately threw in the towel and knew you had beaten me to the punch, spent the money and licked my wounds. LOL. When I sent them back for re-springs, you replaced the 4 that I had lost for free. I still have about 90 left and have added through the years but it was my best kept secret for about ten years--darn it. Man does that convention bring back the thoughts......... the mike
