Hey folks, I've been canning my whole life. However, we have only water bathed our jars. I'm looking into a pressure canner to expand what I put up on a yearly basis. I'm looking at the Presto 23qt, as it seem to be what is most available. I was wondering what yall's thoughts were on the presto?
Thanks. That's the one I use,,and have used for many years. With that size,,you can double stack the pint sized jars.My wife and I can ALL our vegetables for the year, and lots of meat with that canner.Gasgets and parts are readily available for it too.

Only thing I'd like better is if I could stack quarts. I have not used others so can't compare, it's a pot. Purple green beans are up next.

Another vote for All American. It only hurts one time to buy quality. And if you are wanting to stack quarts, All American has sizes that will do that. I have the 930 and it will hold 19 pints or 14 quarts. They are not cheap or cheap made and there is a wait now when you order one. I have had mine around 10 years, it gets lots of use, and I have never regretted buying it. But there are times I wish I had two of them.

Three Thanksgivings ago we lost power for a week. I kept a close eye on the freezers and around day four I started canning the meat. I much prefer deer and beef roast canned. Water on stock too, no electric = no pump.

I use a smaller presto here
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I just saw a used All American Pressure Cooker 921 for sale for $120.00. It looks like it's been hardly used. Is that a decent price?
What's a used All American Pressure Cooker in decent used condition worth? I frequently see them at auction.
Keith 921 new runs from $320 -$380 depending on where you get it. If all the parts are there, there is not much to go wrong with them and replacement parts can be ordered if something does break. If I saw one that did not look abused for that price, I would be all over it!
