was able to go shoot league , it is a fairly informal league , action pistol , show up and get scored when you can pitch in to set up and clean up and a target donation , no prize money just good practice.

with the covid there was many months with no league then limited numbers then finally open , although the ammunition situation has limited the numbers we would get around 15-20 guys in a night in 2019
this week we had 4 shooters my son and I were 3 and 4 ammo still being an issue for many

with 18 months of not shooting league , I didn't stink it up real bad it was a good test of where I was at

my draw well it was slow , I do draw from concealment and it is slower than a competition holster I was slower yet

accuracy was fine

bobbled one slide lock reload cost me a couple seconds

unfortunately other than my draw everything I need to work on needs some ammo

any one else getting back to league shooting

my son did decent also considering the lack of practice he has been shooting this league since he was 12 now that he is 18 he can draw from his holster , while he was a kid my rule was shoot from low ready which is a standard in some youth competitions . now that he is an adult , if he shoots himself in the butt it is his butt and he also has a lot more practice going in and out of a holster.

I shot a 3gun match last weekend. This is the second match of the year for me. I'm pretty strong with the long guns (other than screwing up some shotgun reloads). Pistol was weak.

I also joined IDPA this week and went ahead and registered for a tier 3 match in October. I guess I'm all in on handgun practice. At least i can find cheap steel case ammo now for the price i was paying for diecent brass cased stuff in 2019.

they were running some 2 gun matches about 40 minutes away , I was getting ready to try that just before we all had to take a year time out.

shotgun and pistol , they were having range issues with much rifle and better to have 2 gun than not have anything at all , they have a rifle range at that club but keep it very stationary shooting.

I have to look into that again

I could see a 22 rifle stage being a lot of fun , there are a lot of fun 22 rifle targets then you could transition to pistol and get good practice

if you kept the 22 targets to decent enough size running a 22lr bolt carrier could be a low cost way to have some fun or a 10-22 with some 25rnd BX mags

Interesting, I may bring that up at our next private range meeting. I have never heard mention of a shooting league at our club meetings.

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Haven't had competition shotguns out of safe since 2017. Got the itch about a month or 2 ago and already shot some skeet, trap, sporting clays, helice/zz, and some flyers!!!

Pistol caliber carbine is a good substitute for rilfe on bay stages. The club can use their pistol steel abd it gives good rifle practice. Under normal circumstances it is cheaper to shoot than 5 56.

IDPA now has a PCC division.

I had been looking at getting a AR based PCC or a Ruger PCC then the covid happened and the prices went nuts and the supply gone

we have had a few people bring PCCs and run them for fun , they tend to be very fast on a pistols course

I have run a few stages for fun with a 10/22 I can shoot right near the top of the steel popper plates and get them to go over , some I double tap

I think I might do that next time we shoot.

When I was stationed in Michigan, I participated in a metallic silhouette league. It sure was fun. Fortunately, I was reloading my 44mags for my Super Blackhawk.
