Why are the Wyoming Trappers convention and John Graham’s Coyote days on the same weekend???

Seems a shame to have to split a limited number of trappers between 2 really great events. Why can’t every one get along………

I think this is a perfect example of why trappers are losing battles everywhere. Just saying……….

That is very unfortunate. Apathy goes up as fur prices go down.

Yes guys it is unfortunate that they are the same weekend. I hope to get with John so this doesnt happen again. I posted the dates a while back in the FTA affiliate news. And its been advertised in the post the last two issues. It has been my understanding, that the WSTA has held this particular weekend for some time now and some are not so willing to bend away. Im hoping that this will not be the case in the future. We have a great time planned and I hope to see you there. Guys, call me anytime with other and all concerns and input. 307 645 3008. Other directors and officers are listed on the WSTA web site. I appreciate the input guys! Thanks! E.J. Kelley

If the WSTA doesn’t want to bend to improve their attendance, it is their loss. John Graham will certainly get his crowd.

I do believe that John Graham announced, shortly after his last year, the weekend he was having it this year, and if I remember right, Wyoming trappers canceled theirs last year, and he had it on those dates because of lack of rooms because of the Sturgis rally.

E.J., Thank You for clarifying and acknowledging that I'd set the Dates for Coyote Days well in advance of the WSTA giving a time for their Rendezvous. Unless there has been a bylaw change, the copy of the bylaws that I have states that the WSTA should have their convention in August. The WSTA moved the convention around the state for years, and always getting the same weekend every year was difficult.

I will gladly work with YOU, if you are involved in the future. Coyote Days has possibly outgrown Lusk, with only 5 motels and 3 campgrounds, so I am looking at 2 other places to hold it in the future. Maybe there will be some leeway on available weekends in the future.

John

Hey, good to know John! I hope the WSTA can move around the state in the future also. Thats good for all the trappers. Congrats on youre coyote days growing each year. Thats my goal for the WSTA also. As Wissmiss statedd, these are two great events, lets try to separate them so trappers can attend both. Im all for that! Thanks John!
